sub placement question

I recently acquired a 86 b2000 ext cab. I have never owned a tuck but need help with my subs. I have 2 mtx thunders and a kicker 500 watt amp. I have installed the amp and the subs are in a typical box. The box takes up the entire space behind the front seat What is the best way to face the subs and is there anything I can do to optimize the sound.

What size subs? Is the box vented?

i think best bet is subs and ports foward... if ported , that way you get the reflection off the windshield or, subs forward port up is good too... sealed id say it dont matter.
