Hiyas.

Im new to the forums and such on this site but being an owner of a 87 b2200 i thought this would be the place to get help.

Im into rock and a bit of dance music (rave to be exact), and need to redo the stock audio in my truck. I've got a JVC KD-R200 head unit with two Pioneer TS-GS1047 (4 inch) for the fronts. Im needing more depth and bass to my sound and was wondering about what size subs should i look for and a box to put it in. Kinda on the short funded side (transmission replacement = $1,015 -.-") and can build my own box but need a rough draft to go by. Truck still has the stock bench seat.

Any help will be apreciated.

In the morning i will post pics of what im working with.

If you are looking to put something behind the seat id go with the rockford p3s woofer. Its probably the best sounding shallow mount woofer I've heard. As far as your 4 in speakers I think you'll find them lacking in midbass area. To compensate for this I would make lil pods behind the woofers with sound deadener or something.

Thanks for the advice. I actually had a co-worker who was gonna trade me a single 12" P3S with box that used to run in his s-10, in exchange to rewire in his new CD Player.

I used a 10" clarion shallow mount sub in a custom built ported box. One on each side with amp in the middle. 4" pioneers and 6.5 in the door panel sounded pretty awesome for what it was. The subs are fairly expensive but they were the cheapest shallow mounts on the market.

i have two 10" cvr kickers in a shallow sealed box....hits pretty dam good for not having much space. On the door panels I have 6" pioneer 2 ways. I listen to electro also and Id go with some kicker panels for the mids and some tweets on the pillars, to bring out that crazy electro sound.

kicker has some very nice 8inch cvr dvc subwoofers. they are rated at 600watts and with a good amp and spec box, they sound amazing. and they are on amazon for under $40 new each.. just an idea for ya....

i am running 4inch 2 way fosgate mids in my dash, 2 pioneer 4 inch mids down by my shifter all running off the pioneer deck. running off my 150W amp is 2 sony 6inch subs in ported boxes. they sound pretty amazing for little subs.

I'mnot sure if everyone realizes how loud mazdas can get. And how much stuff you can fit in them haha. I put 3 18s in my buddys ext cab. And I had 3 15s in mine. They get extremely loud.

you can only fit so much in a standard cab unless you make a cut thru box or have a x cab
