lights problem

ok i bought a mazda and the guy who had it before did something to it. im guessing he wired the air gauge up wrong cause when u push the brake in the interior lights come on, like on the instrument panel and such.do u think that could be causing it?

Sounds like a cross under the dash, either two wires joined on accident or exposed and just touching. One other possibility that is less likely is a back feed from the brake light circuit into the running light circuit. I would look under the dash first. There are only a couple wires to the brake switch and they should not be hard to trace back to the fuse and then out to the taillights. Good luck and let me know if you need wiring diagram info. -Ed

yeah that might be cause i took a look down there and there is wires coming off fuses left and right and wires in a big mess
