went to the bone yard today to get an alternator to convert to a high powered ford one, and I saw an 88 b2200 that was completely flawless on the exterior. It had tan interior so I was gona pull the carpet out. I pull everything out and was pulling it out and it caught at the bottom of what I think is the heater box. I unbolted everything I could get to with just the bottom dash part off. Would I have to pull out the rest of the dash to remove it and remove the carpet?
yeah im affraid so. there are some bolts on the top of it that you will only get out with the dash out of the way.
i just made a small cut from the bolt up to the end of the carpet...cant see it when the carpet is reinstalled
well I ended up forcefully coaxing the heater box out, with my foot. then after that I realized there were just two bolts holding it in and the two heater hoses.
we broke/cut a hole in the windshield to get the dash out cause we couldnt remove the steering wheel. haha.
