ok so last night i went to drive home from my friends and i put my key in the ignition and go to turn it and its super tough to turn. i used to be able to turn it easily like any other vehicle but it is really tough to do now. any ideas on what could have happened?
steering wheel lock?? put your key in and move the steering wheel left to right and turn the key at the same time
i dont have power steering so the wheel doesnt lock and its not that i cant turn it its like really tough or kinda sticky and is hard to turn to start
try spraying some penetrating lub in there, my friends honda does that sometimes its smooth others its tough we sprayed it and its been fine for a few months now.
I had a problem kinda like that a while back I sprayed some Wd-40 in it and it worked fine.. the only problem is it got real loose for a few minutes and the key would come out with it running but then was ok..
I too have had the same problem:
Used 3-in-1 oil and it worked after working the key a few times... I wonder why the hell these things happen? What in the world is falling apart in the cylinder that just makes it lock up?
i guess ill have to go to the store and get some 3 in 1 oil tomorrow. that was what i was thinking of using when it first started doing it but i didnt know if that would screw up the lock but i guess it doesnt. thanks
wow that worked amazing......put about 2 drops in and turned the key a bunch of times and it turns perfectly now. thanks for the help.
