if u could help i would like it i have a mazda b 2000 1987 and i bought a radio cuz when i bought it it didnt have one well when i hooked it up i thought sweet i got a radio now but then at night i turned on my lights and my radio shuts off so yeh if u have any help it would be nice

is it blowing fuses when it "shuts off"?sounds like your illumination wire maybe grounding out.

no fuses blowing just looses power like the light take it away i think it might be a crossed wire not sure

take the headunit out and check your connections and make sure that there are no bare wires showing if there are tape them up or if they are not being used, cut them off. iv had the speaker wires touch eachother and iv had them ground and nearly screwed my headunit. -bf

if you have the orange illumintaion wire hooked up, cut it, it shouldnt be hooked up, that sounds like your problem, unless the previous owner tapped into the headlights or parking lights at the steering column for power for some odd reason

u got the illumination wire from the truck hooked up to the ground on the deck, that wire rests at ground but when u turn on the lights it turns to 12volts + ...... ground the deck to a spot of bare metal in the truck

thats right, just run a new ground wire for your radio
