Moderate Drop

I static dropped my truck today. It's just a moderate drop since it's my daily driver for work. It's a 3" drop in the rear and a 2" in the front. I cranked the torsion bars instead of re-indexing them because I couldn't get on of the bolts off...it's stuck good. But the torsion "hooks" don't hang any lower than the exhaust, so I should be ok. Anyway it looks alot better now. I might take one leaf out in the rear when my drop shocks get here.

looks good man...ahh the memories, I can still remember when my truck had that kind of drop on it, for about a day and a half then I dropped the dog snot out of it, lol. Definitely need to look into some smaller tires though

Looking good man. Nice start. Like you said, drop shocks and take a leaf out. OR you could run blocks; 2"~3" is about what most people run.

The rear has three inch blocks on it in the two lower pics. It's not low enough, that's why I said I'll take a leaf out when my drop shocks come in.

Thanks for the comments. I plan on getting a little smaller tire soon, but not too much smaller. The rims and low pro tires will have to wait a long time...I'm going to swap the axle and control arms to Ford Ranger stuff. That will be done when I get the new engine, trans, ecm, and harness... so I have to save quite a bit of money first. Until then stock is in.

if I remember correctly you ordered the doetsch tech shocks right?
if so they are overkill for your drop
you would be better off with the monroes I bought or any other similar shock/length
my monroe fronts were 2" shorter than stock and rear is stock length which is fine with a block until you start removing leaves

Yep, I ordered the Doetsch shocks. The Doetsch fronts are two inches shorter than stock, so I'm ok there. And for the rear I plan on removing one or two leaf springs so I should be alright there. I just don't want to go too low in the rear and bottom out on the frame.

if you remove 2 leaves get a notch and monroe shock 32207. it's perfect, nice and smooth ride. I'm not sure how close you'll be with removing 1 so you may have to use the doetsch techs there unless you get a notch.
