Would some of you who have your stock gas tank still in the stock location with bags please post your pics for me? I prefer bags on bars, but on or behing axle is good too.

Thanks.

I didn't get any pics that show all the bars too well, but it's a forward wishbone 3 link with rear lift bars. The tank is pretty much in the stock location. Custom rear crossmember and raised up above the bottom of the frame a bit. Gets about 16" of lift with Slam RE-7's...way more than I'll ever need lol.

Hey Bagged, thanks for the shots man. Did you do a custom wrap around the tank?

Yeah Slammed, I'm trying to see what all my options are so I'll have an idea when I get ready to have it done.

No, we just flipped it up on top of the factory front mount instead of under it. On the back we just replaced the factory crossmember with the one the wishbone is on, and have the rear tank mounts coming off of that. You can kind of see the 2 pieces of curved 3/8" plate in the first 2 pics going down from the crossmember to the back mounts of the tank.

Looks good, but it looks like the lift bars should be underbraced, ....looks good though mand I leike the idea of not using the locating bars to lift with..

Ya I would undergusset the lift bars and how are those shocks working in that postion. I was told to have shocks work at there best to have them as straight up and down as possible for a smooth ride, am I wrong or what.

yeah those chocks are basically useless....and shocks can be mounted in any position as long as the path they act within is the same as spring travel and proportionate to the spring travel...you can mount the shock horizontal witha cantilever arm ( 1:1 ratio to spring ) and it will work just fine.

Yea, I'm redoing the axle right now and the shocks won't be mounted there when I'm done.

I don't think the bars need to be gussetted. They're 1.5" DOM 3/16" wall. They bent the 1" hardened solid steel cotter pin in the tubing bender before the DOM bent. Show me a pic of some 1.5" DOM 3/16" wall lift bars bent and I'll throw some gussets under there.
