what is this

Seems like that would make the truck run too rich if you removed it.

i got that fixed now i just removed it and used a piece of exhaust pipe in its place but i noticed it was sounded like it was still pulling alot of air, well i opened the air box and the guy i got it from had removed the filter completely so i guess its back to the parts store for a new filter and some plugs and wires. which plugs and wire does everyone recommend cause i dont want no cheap ones cause i have been through that before with my old trucki had to replace the wires twice in about a week and a half before i broke down and bought a set of accel wires
