my water trap says it will trap water and air tool oil or 10w oil so im thinking of going with 10w40. hopefully it will work good with my oiler
Im gonna go by later and get the original hoses that came off my pump I was unsure when I went back to the yard if those were the same ones I took off but they were so I will go get them.
Thanks for all the good info on this.
where should i set the oiler to.. like full open or it says for air tools 3-4 drops per minute??
lowest setting is what I been seeing and thats at least 90% of the people saying the lowest setting lol.
how much oil do these compressors spit?? or does it kinda depend on how old it is and the shape of it??
Well.... Can only say about my current setup. Currently just pouring oil into the plug on the top. Will pump about an ounce out each time I use it. This is probably way more oil than is necessary. That is why I am going to convert to an external oiler.
will it hurt anything if i have the oiler set too high??? only thing i can think of is i will have to fill the oiler more often.
all i have left now is wiring in a switch and conecting to the pressure switch and i should have if running and post about how it turned out.
If your oiler is set to high 3 things can happen:
1. You will spend more $ on oil.
2. You will empty your oil/water separator more often than needed.
3. You may have to clean oil our of your check valve.
that makes sense so i guess i will set it pretty low
i wired in a switch for the compressor. i have a pressure switch as well. i went to turn my truck on and i blew the fuse. my question is do i need a relay like i had before for the viair or can i just run a wire to my switch from the pressure switch?? right now i don't have a relay. and also does my presure switch ground through the tank because i have the switch on the positive side? o and my switch was turned off when the fuse blew
