you can keep it if you want. I scrapped it and my truck still fired up on a 16 degree day. Since your in florida, I'd install the carb without it.

I just thought about this too...I think my piece was plastic. It had just a little square metal piece in it that you could depress.. Hmm... My truck will start in the cold, but it ran crappy till it warmed up a bit...

Will it help my truck warm up any faster?

It should. Not sure but the warmer is electric so I think they are wired to read ambient air temp from a computer sensor and come on when temp is below freezing.BJ

That little square metal piece that you could depress is the grounding path for the heating element.
You will notice that there is a carb gasket inbetween the mating surfaces. Without the cutout, the heater will not work. It needs a ground path.

The PTC heater keeps the carb from icing up in cold weather or morning start ups.

what tubes with the orange and blue stripes? The only "tubes" you actually need are the fuel supply, and the vacuum advance to the distributor. You can leave the fuel return and canister if you want, just keep in mind that the truck will smell like a lawn mower on warm days.

i think that those orange and blue lines go to an altitude sensor? someone told me that's what mine was(IDK for sure)... anyway i scrapped it. runs fine without it.
