hey guys i'm not a engine guy number 1 so i had to get that straight. i have a 91 b2600i that i use for a daily and side work truck for my lawn care and special utility business during the summer. there is a gas smell coming from the truck riding down the road and after i cut it off. i was wondering what this could be and if any one has expierenced these problems. i thought it might be the injectors but thats all i can come up with. theres no leaking when i park it and the gas gauge works fine and dandy.

any help would be appreciatted.thanks ryan.

The fuel filter for the 2600i mounts on the passenger side firewall.Make sure it isnt leaking from the intake or outlet hoses. Also checl the fuel line from tank to fuel filter and be sure it isnt leaking as well.Gas evaps pretty quickly so it might be dried up when u start to look.BJ

think i know the problem??? i talked with the lady who owned it before me and she said a cpl years ago she had the same problem smelling the fumes kinda like burnt gas and not fresh gas and it wasnt all the time. she said her mechanic that always worked on the truck replace the o-ring in the first injector towards the front of the truck.

how much for a new injector, or just o-ring, or all the injectors and what kind of trouble is it to install these?

thanks ryan.

plug and play-not much trouble.I would replsce all the o rings if that is te problem.

Get mazda ones they are not expensive and these trucks tend to like factory parts....

cheapest i've found was 65each all 4 would be a quater of what i paid for the truck. also found some used ones on ebay and i have found that a leaky injector gives a gas fume away. so this should answer my own question. also i found that injectors isnt something that will go bad but the o-rings is the #1 cause. so might just have to pick up a cpl kits and a chiltons.

to everyone who replied to this thread thanks....
