I can fit a 24, barely but the wheels would be tucked really far inwards...and it will be like 1/2 inch from laying out.

Remember I drive 94 mazda though.

that's right... i can't fit a 22 under my bedrail... letalone a 24 so i was like WTF?? well good luck on that project.
you could install an IRS with short arms up top and get some camber gain, to tuck the tops in more than the bottoms, that way it wouldn't have to be such a narrow track width...
i think it looks funny if they're too far in.

yeah but the more camber the taller the tire gets.
