92 4cyl in a 89

will a 92 4 cyl motor work in a 89, i dont know if a 92 motor is carberated. thanx

87-88 2600's are carbed.89-93 2600i's are fuel injected. All B2000s are carbed.Some 2200's are injected,most have carbs.If u r talking about putting a 1992 B2200 motor in a 1989 B2200 truck,if they are or were both carbed it is a straight swap.BJ

Does not really matter if the 92 is FI or carbed. just unbolt the intake and use the intake from the 89. the long block (head, block and everything inside) is the same. If the 92 is FI the manual fuel pump mounts will probably be blocked off.

yea thats what i thought, so what would i do about the blocked mounts, cause im getting it for 75 bucks and i know it can work

should be just a plate bolted up since they had FI and crab in 92 and 93
