For the Bsceners out there that want to give ur 2600i a bit of a pop as well as a nice sound,I put a Flowmaster 40 and a MagnaFlow cat with 2 inch stainless on my "new" 2600 yesterday. Also removed and cleaned the throttle body and MAF.It is just a bit loud, but will peg the 5500 rpm redline in 4th at about 85 mph and peg the speedo at 110 in 5th.Runs out of fuel and leans out at that point.Anyone got any ideas about a higher capacity fuel pump and /or larger injectors for a 2600?Im gettin plenty of air but not enough fuel.Thanks.BJ

i seriously doubt its leaning out, most likely just not getting enough spark for those RPMs/load.

if it really is leaning out (and you determined this via wideband oxygen sensor) there is an underlying problem. FULL throttle at XXXX rpm in 4th gear is gonna be on the same LOAD scale as XXXX rpm in 5th gear at WOT. simply saying gear has nothing to do with amount of FUEL needed at a certain RPM. when a fuel map is built the only variables are RPM and load. of coarse the adaptive ECU system in the EFI system can compensate +/- about 5%.

LAYMANS terms, UNLESS you have serious headwork or a turbo you arent running out of fuel on the top end without some other underlying problem.

by the way, not 100% sure on this but the G6 ecu might have a fuel cut/speed limiter at XXX MPH, and thats what you are getting. i wouldnt know, highest mine has seen is 90mph, which is actually only about 80mph. speed kills.

Mine is an auto ,but I dont have a cat,but I do have a flowmaster knock off, that dumps about middle ways of the cab, cleaned up the throttle body, blocked off the intake resonator and put an open filter on the end of the maf,and a mallory coil, all in all it runs pretty damn good,I would like to get a little more out of it if I could.Oh.and it only has about 8 months on a rebuild....Would love to have a header.....

mine is also an automatic, i have a cold air intake, drug through cat, and a dump, no muffler at all. runs good to me. think my ecu is taking a dump though, loads up pretty bad if it idles too long.

Yea,I got a rebuilt ecu, runs alot better, what kinda intake did you use??I heard that civic intakes work..

yeah, its a 92-95 civic intake, put on backwards so the bend is right before the MAF. only problem i had was with the open filter the fan blowing on it would make the idle bounce a little, so i got one of the filters with a shield on it.

There are a couple more options you can do. I'm hoping to get mine somewhere near 150 to 170 hp. You can have the cam reground that will add 10 to 15% plus a header and cold air intake. (I'm thinking about going with some sort of ram air if I can do what I think I can.) Then JET also offers a chip upgrade it's 399.00. You have to send them your ECU and let them know what upgrades you've done to the engine. They'll make a chip that will add approx 10 to 12 hp. I just wrote to them a few days ago and this is what I was told.

kinda off topic, kinda on topic.........i have a freshly rebuilt carbed 2600, im not sure if they are at all similar in power or what,

but i am going to run mine with the pacesetter header and a 2.5 inch madrel bent exhaust into a 2.5 in/out flowmaster 40 series....

i think 2 inches is tooo small for your exhaust. isnt stock like 1 3/4?

I cant find a header for the 2600i,and I put 2 1/4" pipe on mine, but with mine being so short and dumped I dont think it would have mattered much.
