My truck started running rough yesterday. When I'm driving it acts like its cutting out and missing almost. On take of it feels like it wants to die very easily and the exhuast smells like gas. Any idea what it could be?

Check your dist. cap and rotor and your plug wires, mine was doing the same thing changed my plug wires and it runs fine now.

the engine is rebuilt and has about 10,000 miles or so on it. It was running fine then just started acting up out of no where. I'm gonna change the fuel filter, spark plugs, and wires and air filter though.

make sure the plug wires are connected completely. i know on mine sometimes the wire on the coil pops off sometimes especially if i hit a hard bump

check your PCV valve.. if its no good and it develops a leak on your intake manifold, it wont run.. happend to me.

ok I replaced the spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter, pcv valve, dist. cap and rotor, and it didn't do anything. Can the vacuum advance cause it to not run right? When I unplug the line off of the dist. it doesn't change anything.

the vacuum advance does not pull vacuum until higher RPMS.

if it is not working, then obviously the motor is not advancing at higher RPMS as it should, so you get a loss of power. but should not go as fas as the truck skipping

Sounds like something in the carb to me, maybe the accelerator pump, or the float got messed up...Are u running a stock carb? If u spray carb cleaner in it will it bring up the rpms like it should?
