I have seen a JE installed from a 90 929 about 8 years ago. I dont remember what they had to do with the mounts but the transmission does bolt up. From what I remember you will want to get the flywheel for the 1988 929, Exedy lists a clutch for it
The hard part will be the EFI system. You will want to get a wiring book for the model year of the 929 motor you are getting so you can get the engine wired up.
