my dad is giving me $500 towards a new engine for my birthday. I was wondering if any of the newer model B series fit. I have a 86 B2000. keeping in mind that I am using it for delivering pizzas in so I am not really going for the big block engines just a little more powerful 4 cylinder. my old one is ticking and leaking all over and it is a chain of problems. I just want to get rid of it. thanks for all of your input. Neil

well theres a bunch of topics on this so the search wouldve been better but since your a noob....you could probably get a used stock bseries motor from jap. with low miles for around 400-800 i think people werer sayin. do a search theres more on it.

to keep it nice, simple, and reliable, swap in another b-series motor, swap in a remanufactured 2.0 (B2000)...should be a quick swap

marks right, if anything do another stock motor and thorw on a cam, weber carb, header, msd coil, and a bunch of little things, and it'll be a little more peppier,
i used to deliver pizzas in mine, when i was riding the bumpstops, and i also had to replace my motor, those days were fun
