Mikey got a new Mazda!

I actually went into that dealer to buy a 2002 PR5 on the spot, but they wouldnt finance it because it's older than 04, and thats when they asked if I'd be interested in a Mazda 3 and I was like hellll yeah. Looked at it, didnt even drive it or sit in it and bought it right there basically.

I've driven 3's before, so not like I didn't know what I was getting into.

Unfortunately it does not have heated seats, but I can live without that. My Catera and Accord had heated seats and I didn't find them that great.

sweetness. how much are the protege 5's going for out there right now? they've been holding steady at 4-6 g's in southern ontario here for like 4 years.

yeah that 02 I looked at was listed for 5995. It was very clean too. I'd have bought it immediately if I could have financed it. Always liked those. But the 3 is a much more upscale car. For being a so called economy car, this thing is just flowing with quality by the bucketloads.

It's a very roomy car. Handles very tight, decent ride even with the 17s and with the 2.3 5 speed, it's quite peppy. Not the fastest car ever, but still quick and great on the highway.

Overall, with so many cars out there to choose from, the Mazda 3 would be one of, if not my top choice in the compact catergory. I don't think I've read a bad review on them.

So what have I done? Other than gone crazy....

-painted the OEM wheels
-painted the calipers. I have some "Mazda 3" decals arriving this week for them
-painted the plastic engine covers
-smoked the tails & side markers
-shaved the door moldings
-6000k low beam HIDs (arriving this week)
-3000k fog light HIDs (arriving this week)
-Cold Air Intake (Arriving and installing tomorrow)
-Blue bulbs in the interior map/dome lights
-Carbon fibre eyebrows
-Carbon fibre mesh grille
-1993 Acura Integra front lip
-JDM Mazda "Axela" trunk emblem (arriving this week)

So I'm tapped out for money for mods now. Made my first payment on the car today. Going to stay this way for a while. I'd like to save up and get the windows tinted soon.

ha thanks. Yeah, last time I talked to him he said he bought one and loved it. That's been ages ago though.

wow mikey... with your new whip you'd fit right in over at mazdasnw.com ... most of those guys are running newer model mazdas... im one of the few with an older b and they like seeing what im doing with it... im sure they might give you a few ideas you hadnt thought of for your new 3

cool i'll have to check that out. i'm on the mazda3 forums and it's pretty decent, but they're a pretty snooty group
