I got lucky and picked up a Snap on FM140A for 200 and another 150 in parts to get it working. Ive burned a hole through 1/4" steel with it. They are expensive as crap nw but if you can pick one up used they are the best welder Ive ever burned metal with. I sold my Miller after 6 months of having this.

I love my miller 180 autoset, welds 5/16" in one pass, all the way down to 24 g sheet metal
I would say 230v all the way
I had a lincoln 140 before this , the work was not as good , now my work is higher quality, less grinding, better welds etc
