which one? need some input

so my parents decided that i need a 4wd car for the snow cause i guess people in washington dont drive lowered trucks in the snow which is BS but whatever if they want to get me a new car i'm not going to stop them. so the problem i'm having is deciding whether to get a 1993 B2600i 4x4 for $2500 or a 1988 mazda 323 gtx 4x4 turbo for $1500. right now i'm leaning towards the gtx just cause i really want a rally car and that thing was built to rally. only a handful were brought to the US so they are pretty rare and its hard to find a decent one but on the other hand i love my truck and i wouldnt mind having another one. a 4x4 mazda truck would be sweet to have. it would be the opposite of my truck now. one would go down and the other one would get jacked up. this is such a hard decision. do i want the rally car or the truck? all i know is i want to 4x4 mazda.

323 gtx ftw, but dont kill it, if you blow up the trans, good luck finding another one,

well its actually a friends and the tranny is alright he shifte is a little sloppy but oh well. the engine might go soon though which is fine cause we both want to swap a miata 1.8 into it.

what? the 1.8 swap? the 1.6 thats in it now is gutless and the turbo is barely putting out any boost. a 1.8 will have more horsepower plus a nice turbo it will turn out way better.

ok the swap is worth is it, but its not worth buying that for the winter if it might not last it, you might want to get something more reliable, and make the 323 GTX a project

yeah thats kinda what i was thinking. the car will more than likely make it through the winter but i kinda need something that will last a little longer than that. thats why i wanted the 4x4 truck cause i dont really need 2 projects right now.

if the car was in good condition i'd be all for it, because i just got a 96 subaru impreza 2dr andi freakin love it. this thing rocks in the snow, and i got it forrrrrrr rallying! But it sounds like it needs work, and i also own a b2600i and its a sweet truck would make a awesome winter bomber!

323 gtxs are AWD ,NOT 4wd. Big difference. They are also known for grenading the differential, as your friends has.Thats what is causing the slop and loss of power. If u have serious driving in snow or ice to do, go with the truck. The GTX is a great little car but it is not made to drive in snow and ice, just rally on hard surfaces.It would make a great project car.bj
