YOU NEED TO LOOK INTO THIS! There is a 8k tax credit for first time home buyers. I think there is a minimum cost of the house but I didn't see it listed. I just closed on my first house on March 23rd. My house is a 3 bedroom 2 bath 1 car garage in a small neighborhood, granted my house was about 114k more then yours. my girlfriends grandmother was a bookkeeper and she did all my taxes. I qualified for this and I am getting a $9156.00 tax return (extra 1000 if you add a storm door and energy star appliances). The only issue is you have to live in the house for 3 years and make sure on your taxes you claim it as your primary residence. Trailer homes are considered eligible!

Yeah, the credit is 10% of the purchase price of the home, up to a maximum of 8k. I'll get $300.

$300.00 is better then nothing I guess... To bad, 8K would have been a nice start for you and your girl.
