welding helmets?

wow, thanks for all the info guys. that is what i needed. hey dev, i looked up the optrel satellites and i found a few places that sell them but not very many. where did you buys yours from? i have been checking out the specs on them, now i just need to compare. they are probably who i will go with though. thanks again.

I bought mine at a local welding/osha shop called Oxarc...they are everywhere. I have an account with them if you would like me to get you one of the helmets at a helluva lot cheaper than retail...

hey justin, i was just looking on ebay and they were ranging from 290-350.

hmmm. thats strange. dev said that the millers and lincolns were overpriced. i got my helmet on a sale due to my situation at the time for 160 bucks. retail it wasnt but like 215.00 ofcourse this is just a plain black helmet with no fancy designs or anything.

I have the Lincoln and love it, but I only use occasionally in my garage. I think if I were welding all the time the satellite would be my choice. One of the instructors at the local welding school let me try his and it was sweet!
