there wasnt any kind of petition online or anything like that, just people spreading the word and contacting representatives. if you read in my last post i stated that the bill had been defeated due to the response from all the people that cared about the subject. thanks for looking out but it looks like we already won, for now.

i understood that it was voluntary but most people dont understand the values of the old cars they have sitting around. if the bill did go through it would open up means for the vehicles to be crushed because the owners all of a sudden realized they could trade it in for a hefty down payment.
a personal example ive had with owners like that. my '64 Datsun NL320(unibody one like the blue NC one) which is one of the few most sought after minis right now. when i bought mine, i had seen it in front of someones house with a sticker on the window to get towed away. i knocked on the door and he acted like he didnt care about that old truck, let them tow it. i offered him $50 for it and towed it home that day.
i know it was a lost cause to continue on this thread because it was defeated but just giving more of an understanding on my and many others view on this matter.
