I'm no ebonics expert, but back in the day... not soooo long ago but long enough...in the early 90's DAWG was slang for hommie, my bro, my peeps, my padner, etc... to look at the word mazdawg, you must look at the word Dawg first and it's origins, not just mazdawg. When people started adding the dawg to mazda, it was simply to say you and your truck were tight...aight?
