Am i getting too old???

OK so a friend tells me about a car show on labor day. That being the only day i have off to go to a car show since i work 12 hour shifts on the weekend i jump on it and decide to go. I use to go to a show every saturday and sunday there was always a local show somwhere. Well since i havent been in close to 2 years i was excited about going. When i went every weekend i was in a local club and we would meet drive to a show have a good time win or lose and come home. This show was about the same except for the way they drove. Im no longer in a car club and i followed the club my buddy is in. Well as soon as we got on the interstate some wanted to go 80 some 50 some wanted to swerve for no reason and some wanted to let everyone pass then come flying by everyone just to show off there little weedeater sounding midget car. Im only 24 years old. is this a sign of being old or r the younger groups not take respect in there things. i take care of my ride wash it when it dirty do the maintanence myself. maybe its because most kids these days dont have to work for what they have and there mommy and daddy buy them everything. when i was 14 i had a summer job at the local grade school cleaning and painting thats where my first mini truck come from. maybe im just to laid back or maybe im a jackass. But when i leave for a show i just like driving straight and know theres a good chance my ride will get there in one piece. Now if anyone here has had there mommy buy there stuff sorry dont mean to piss anyone off but i just dont understand what good driving like idiots has anything to do with a car show......Later

No your not getting old, I ask myself why thesestupid kids do the same thing, it is totally reatrded and sooner or later they will hopefully learn!

its just bad that an accident is going to have to happen for these kids i call them. me only being 24 i aint to much older then some of them and the bad thing is there were 40 year olds involved in the thing. The one thing i was suprised in was the fact that there wasnt anything mouthing and bitching at other clubs. 4 years ago when i first got into showing it was nothing but lets fight they are talking crap. atleast now maybe it has calmed down a little bit. Its stuff like this i think that is making alot of the small town shows going to 80s an older vehicles so its just the older group who cant tell when they fart.

I agree with your first post 100%. It's all drama,bullshit,politics and braindead dumbfAcks who ruin the entire thing for everyone.

Contrary to my screen name of Crazymikey (which is suiting at the majority of times when describing me), I'm 22 and it makes me sick to see the sheer stupidity of some kids. I honestly think the ones 2+ years older than us are complete retards and worse than we ever were at their ages.

I learned the value of a dollar,I respect and take car of my belongings and others.

I wholeheartedly beleive in the term "you get what you give." If you don't give a shit,then you don't have shit. You treat me like shit,I give you shit. The term works on so many levels.

Kids today make me sick. Parents don't care,so there's not much we can do but let Darwinism play it's role.

im only 21 and i too get really tired of how a lot of "kids" act when it comes to vehicles and shows. they are the reason a lot of mini truck shows are ending from doing stupid shit. a lot of that stuff happens because alcohol is around. the best show i went to was dropzone last year but they dont have a 3 day anymore because they got kicked out of the location. drunk people were startin fights, draggin through the grass, vandalizing property, and one drunk guy even ran into someone truck rupturing the fuel cell and catching it on fire. all of them have shown no respect for their rides or other peoples stuff. and all of this leads to other people not repecting other minitruckers because theyve seen other guys doin stupid stuff.
dont get me wrong, drinking is one of my favorite things to at shows but im not gonna go hop in my truck and endanger other people.

The entire problem just comes down to the fact that these kids are all self centrered,selfish pieces of shit with absolutely no respect for others and no concept of consequences.

Hey Downtoearth. You're not getting old man. You just have your head on your shoulders. Be glad, other have their heads elsewhere. it's good to know that not all teens or people in their early 20's are brain damaged. Just a word of advice. Hang out with people more like you or better yet, even better than you. Because bad company corrupts good habits. No matter how strong willed you think you might be.
