If u want a good carry gun that will deter most people and stop the ones that arent detered, look for a little auto called a Kahr.they are cheap, reliable and very small.come in 9mm and some other calibers as well.If u want serious heat, there is an auto made in florida called a Defender that comes in .38 Super that has a double stack (18 round) magazine. Also cheap, also reliable and will bring some serious smoke up ur booney. The .38 Super has a muzzle velocity with factory loads up to 1500 fps and they are very, very accurate.the little Ruger SP101 in .327 Mag is a great carry gun but it is a bit pricey.Taurus are ok but they are a bit pricey for what they are.hope this helps.by the way .22s are deadly at close range but I prefer to knock somebody down for keeps a little further away.all my guns are loaded with PDR (personal defense rounds) and they hit ,mushroom and leave lots of nasty pieces floating around.bj

Yea, those JHP's are pretty nasty! I've never heard of Kahr, but I'm looking at them right now! lol..

Are you talking about Springfields defender model?

I like revolvers as they have more power, but I'll still have to try and come to terms on one only because of reloading. Sure I could use a speedloader, but a magazine is just so much easier, IMO.

Are all these guns small enough to not leave a bulge in the side of your body?

I pretty much can only think of using a holster so I can carry inside my shirt with a mag on the other side. How do you carry?

I like Taurus now, but the biggest they got me on was because I'm only aware of the fact they are the only ones who carry a lifetime warranty?

BTW, I been pointed to a CZ as well.. Ever deal with them? I was looking at this model:

I held one today and must say not too bad at all..

CZs are very nice guns and can be found used a lot.I will get u the name of the Defender,it escapes me for now-not a Springfield. The Kahrs are very small as is the Ruger SP.The Defender is larger.the old Walther PPK is also a great carry gun IF u can find one and dont mind scrounging around for .380 auto ammo.
