ITS BEEN 3 WEEKS!!!!

I QUIT DRINKIN!!! wasn't that i was a ragin alcoholic, atleast i didn't think so, but i was drinkin quite a bit and goin out partyin with people i thought were friends. left the old lady behind alot too, to go party. my one foot was gettin scaley, i'd lost my quick wit, all kinds of other not so good things. but now i'm doin better, no foot problems, i feel alright when i wake up, im not lucky to make it home everynite and i remember more things.

it started about the end of april when i got fired, i left the plant, grabbed a 12pack and proceeded to get FUBAR'd that nite. then i went bout 4 weeks everynite drinkin atleast a 6'r. i thought no worries, i'll git a job in no time and i aint' gotta worry bout the money i'm spending. WRONG. still aint got a job. i started gettin mean with the girlfriend and she didn't wanna come around. now its on the edge if i'm gonna keep her. i never hit her (i couldn't do that anyways), only yelled at her once a few months ago, but i was gittin mean over the text messages. i've appologized and all, tried to explain to her how hard it is for me right now job huntin everyday and findin nothing. she's understanding. had a couple people tell me i'm goin thru depression. GREAT!

yesterday i had to go to amish country. the village of sugarcreek was lookin for someone to start in with the water department. they were only takin applications yesterday.i went up and was the only person (that i know of) to show up! hopefully i can get the job, me and her get a place, and i'll pop the question next spring/summer. i think after 2 years with her its about time.

congrats man i had a close freind that was the same way but for longer than a few months now he hasnt had a drop to drink in over a year and he is starting to spend his extra cash on his truck instead of drinking

well ever since i was in school it was atleast 5 beers a day then get wasted on the weekends. wish i woulda learned sooner. my girlfriend went with me and my sis to a few of the parties and she just isn't into the whole thing and doesn't want any part of it. i'm glad she feels that way.

oh yeah, i also found out both my dad's brothers are diabetic from drinkin so much. i dont think i'll have a problem keepin it up since i did have a beer the other day at my friends house and it just tasted like cold piss.

i hope she says yes. i dont want any other and i'll never try for another if she dont.

congrats man. ive started cutting back on the drinking a lot too because i was doing pretty much exactly the same thing but still trying to hold a hard job. hope the job works out for ya

congrats.... its harder then alot of people think to quit without any moral help... alcohol is just as addicting as any other drug.... i personally thank A.A. and the many great people i met there for my recovery and sobriety....

it was mainly how i was actin towards her. i saw that i was bein a d!ck and that it was time to quit. i always joked bout it that 'drunks forever AA's for quitters'. glad i dont live by that anymore
