So five weeks ago the trailer plant I work at was laid off for two weeks. Then we worked for three more weeks, and got laid off again for two more weeks(this week and last week). Just got a phone call from the boss and he said the next two weeks we are down.

So with this I guess I wont be seeing Dev and Hexorz this weekend at Visions. Now more than ever I'm thinking a different job, but there is nothing and just bought my house in march. We have been able to get through two weeks off here and there cause we were laid off at the first of the year also, but a whole month is going to be a challenge.

DUDE! Thats sucks... I wish you could still make it!

Well just keep your priorities straight!

I could get you a high paying union job, but I'm sure it will involve travel. Although its better than not making anything?

I tried getting on with Union Pacific, I'm going to start looking into some other stuff. If it gets to bad I go back to a job I had 7 years ago but it was an hour drive to work, and I refuse to live there again.

sorry to hear that bro.

im on disability right now i have been since march, i just had back surgery on the 2nd of july, and i will be off for at least 6-8weeks yet. i work at a harley dealership, and i was told that i need to be 100% before i can come back. and honestly i wont be, so in a few weeks i will be lookin for a new job. but i have been wanting to get out of there for a while ive been there for 3yrs now and the only raise i have gotten was after my 90days, so im up to a whopping $8.50 an hr. and i work on the bikes too!!

Hope everything works out for ya.
Peace N|ck

$8.50 for a Harley mechanic, that's crap polaris and suzuki up here pay $10/hr starting which I wish I would have accepted when I had the chance. I just got used to $14/hr or better.

My boss is supposed to call on the 24th and let me know if were coming back the following week or not. I might start advertising for some bodywork or mechanic odd jobs on craigslist.

I kinda want to ride out the lay-off because if it becomes permanent I can get paid retraining from the state of Oregon for trade schools.

I might be able to get to DOA, I have a buddy that wants to go. We may end up taking his car and splitting gas.
