well i just want to vent a little bit. yesterday my compressors cut on and seemed like they were never gonna cut off. after about 12 or so minutes i went and unhooked them. got in the truck and hit a switch and the front hopped about 1.5ft off the ground. so for some reason the pressure switch wasnt working. pulled it off and tried to clean it but no trash or anything in it. so i start messin with the relays and stuff and ground one out and now neither relay is working so the compressors wont come on or anything and im just disgusted with it and wanted to vent. still dont know for sure if it is the pressure switch or a relay goin bad because when i put power to the relays one was working great but sizzling a little and the other side the relay was sizzling and comp wouldnt come on so i dont know at this point and am just pissed off about it.

check the fuse on the main line to the relay, and swap out the sizzling one, but i would switch out both relays

yeh i put new fuses in the main line as well. its been raining alot here the past day or so. think its possible there is water that has gotten in the relays and burnin stuff up? what about the pressure deal?

DO you not have a tank gauge? You should get one if not so you know whether or not the pressure switch is working right. But you need to know when the pressure switch cuts off the compressors too.

Make sure your wiring is big enough to handle the current and that the in-line fuse does'nt exceed manufacturers recommendations. I have an 80amp in-line and its only slightly over recommendations...

Make sure the relay is also a SPST, if I'm not mistaken...

have a gauge just not plumbed yet. i have 30 amp fuse per comp which is what there rated at. the wire is sufficient size as well.

Are you running viair? 480 or 380?

I'm running dual 380's and one compressor per relay. and one fuse for both. Each compressor of mine draws 17 amps peak. If I were you if your running 380's is get 20 amp fuses instead. You might be drawing too much amperage and frying your relays.

If your system was working before you should have your wiring right then... I would start by checking the above and then replace the relay's. I'm sure your pressure switch is good, but don't quote me, lol. Your relays could be stuck open?

do you not have a master toggle to control the power to the compressors? if not id suggest getting one.... i had a pressure switch go bad and burned up the compressor because i had no way of cutting the power and by the time i figured out it was on for to long it was to late...

hey got to a napa store and get 2 100% duty cycle relays for it instead of the viairs the never go out plus they have a life time warranty just my .02 its cheaper in the long run
