so after seeing Burdaddy's post i figured i'd share.

angle grinder discs are not very finger friendly. this one shattered and cut to the tune of 15 stitches, through the tendon and broke the bone, damn near severed the bastard.

had the same thing happen to my knee last friday at work. I was grinding in the bed of a truck and i am was harrassing the guys all that week for breaking these grinding disc every 5 minutes. So when I went to work with one and it broke i noticed it wasnt the normal green 3m disc we use, it was some cheapy from lowes. It hit my just next to my knee cap, cut through my pants and bruised me like a mofo, wish i would of got pics of it now we have these post going. I did apologize to my guys for thinking they couldnt use the grinders.

That will definately get your attention! OUCH! With any luck, all will heal and you will have a wicked scar to brag about, LOL.

WOW. I use the 4 1/2" Makita grinder at work and use a cut-off wheel on it with no guard!

I can only imagine how bad that would be if it broke on me and hit my fingers! I always cringe about it too but we lost the guards...

Damn i always take my guards off and throw them away!May have to try and find some new ones now!!

i always get nervous using cutting discs on grinders because of that exactly. i hate that my dad always pulls the guards off the grinders in our shop and throws them away.
