damn layoffs!

sux 'bout the layoffs dude, aviation may be bad, but not nearly
as bad as construction, I've probably been laid off 4 times in the
past 8 years....luckily I have always managed to land on my feet.
but as you said family comes first, although I don't know if sherriffing
is the safest profession in the world (it will give you a steady job, and the personal satisfaction that you are an instrumental part of everyday society).
anyhow, I hope it all works out for you, what ever you do.

well i think the layoffs are about over with for now. i think the company i work for is about to lose the contract to someone else soon. our contract is up in september and there has been a lot of talk about other companies getting the aircraft out at a cheaper rate than us. all that really means for me is that i will be working for a new company at a different hourly rate and different benefits. oh well, our management sucks anyways. usually what happens is they keep about 80 percent of the employees and get rid of the other 20 percent that mostly consists of upper management. right now they are cutting our hrs back again, from 5 10hr days and 8 hrs on saturday to 5 8 hr days. oh well at least i still have a job until i go to the academy.

I hear ya on the lay offs. I worked in the auto industry and same thing,you never know from one day to the next. Now I work in construction,thinking I woul dhave job security,but nope...I'm layed off got 6 weeks because of supplier issues and because it's too cold and too much snow for the installers to work onsite.

I think the cop idea is really cool. I've thought about it myself for years,but I just can't sit myself in a classroom and pay attention.

:\ If I can't make it as a Glazier in construction, by the time I hit 21 and I don't find my career, my mom thinks I should become an armored truck personnel carrier, LOL!

the last is the best i like it. well i started a new job last monday the pay sucks but i have time off to play with da truck
