Pretty much the title. What do you look for in a parts store for your custom parts. What is more important to you, is it the selection? The customer service? or the willingness to help you out? or just purely price?

I would say that a combination of all is what I am after when I am buying stuff. What you are missing are the extra items to complete the project.
Lemme give an example here. A customer is buying a C notch kit from you. Well this customer is also going to need the welding wire, the tip for the welder, extra nuts and bolts and u-bolts (just in case something breaks or is otherwise worn.) Sure the customer could go out to the welding store, it might be just down the road, or it could be at a local Home Depot. Since they may need it anyways it might be a good idea to offer to include it with the order, like a "package completer" kit. I'm not saying to stock a lot extra, but if you could ship the rest of what they would need out then it could save them some time and make a little extra money for you.

Thanks for the reply emjay. That makes perfect sense, a one stop shop. We should add metal to our store!

I say the main combination of selection and price! I always go where I know the cheapest parts are IN STOCK! Customer service and the willingness to help out are pluses but when it comes to custom work everyone knows it's blood, sweat n gears
