There is no such thing as a KIa FE3.

They don't exist.

The correct designation is EITHER:

FE-S, with or without the hyphen.

That is a Single overhead cam unit.

FE-D, with or without the hyphen.

That is the Dual overhead cam unit.

Both of them use the FE 2.0 short block that was in the B-2000.

You look at enough FE motors. . .in Mazda's. . .and it is really obvious if you see a FE-S in a KIA.
Same warmed over leftover's, with added fuel injection.
Same pistons. 86 mm.

The FE-D uses a 4 valve head / cylinder, with a little higher compression ratio.
And a little different piston to get the higher compression.

i found a guy on another forum that can get me the motor and electronics for 750. pulled out and ready to pickup. i think this is a fair price as i have gotten quotes for 1100 without the ECM and harness. It looks like i am gonna do this swap. yeah

my engine was pulled today. i will be picking it up probably next weekend and then getting after the install like a fat kid chases the ice cream truck. has anyone put a small turbo on one of these? like 7 lbs of boost? what method of tuning was used? ive seen the super truck on youtube doing donuts. i was thinking like a safc. anybody? if a miata manifold is the exhaust mani of choice then a topmount off ebay will work nice.

if you do this swap make sure and post plenty of pics and information.

please dont by any turbos off ebay.... ebay is OKAY for some things but def NOT a turbo...... and like stated above please post losts of pics and info along the way....
