i have a 91 mazda truck with the top removed. it is a permanent convertible. i didnt think about it when we were building the truck but now that it is finished and ready to be put on the road, what the hell do i do about the seatbelts? the inspection tag is out and i know they are going to harass me about them at the station and every cop is going to pull me over. what has anyone else done? any ideas. i can put lap belts in there and play stupid i guess but that will only work a few times. what would u do?

Yes, Or you can keep the stocks and relocate the upper mount by welding a plate over the speaker hole. Mine has replacement lap belts from the Summit Catalog.

Like Rick stated, you can fab up an upper mount. I did on my roadster and they work great.

Could not find a clearer pic of the mount but with my setup the truck also had a walk thru conversion. The opening in the back of the cab is heavily reinforced so it was a natural place to add the upper seat belt mount.

get some 4 point harness off ebay. thats what my bro used on his convert. just bolted them to the floor and and ran them over the seat i believe. worked well and were comfortable. i kno in cali if your truck came with 3 point harness you have to have that or a ticket dont know about other states tho

4 point harnesses arent legal for road use in some states and provinces.
