New daily (pics)

Just picked up a 88 lx extra cab for $200 love that craigslist!! This thing has it all except for tilt wheel. It even has a/c that works. The guy thought the motor was bad.... it smokes pretty bad but im gonna put some seals in sat morning and see if that helps. We drove it around and it has lots of power still! Should have pics up soon.

sweet score... funny how when things mess up some people just rather not even bother with it and sell it off cheap...

So i pulled the cover to replace the valve seals. Mind you this is not a job for someone new to engines. I have only used air to hold the valves up while i change the seals, but this time i thought i would try the rope trick. It worked way better than i thought it was pretty easy just roll the motor over till its tight then your good to go. So i got them all changed without losing one on the floor . Put it all back together and took it for a drive, for 275,000 it runs out pretty good, still get a little smoke from time to time but im sure both cats are covered in oil and will take a bit to clean them out. The A/C even blows cold. The bad thing is its been hit pass side and its rusting under the bondo and its lifting.... so this will be my daily driver now and my old daily will become a project Just think they were selling this truck with a blown motor Im heading out for a 70 mile drive each way so wish me luck

Cant really see it in the pics but there was a pretty good hit to the pass side. The door is a bit out of line and the extra cab part is rusting under the bondo and lifting it pretty bad... i hate body work so ill just drive the crap out of this one or trade it off. Might be bagging the light grey one this winter or next for my youngest sons first ride
