Air Conditioning... Oh yeah and its good!

Well I went to get a belt for my A/C compressor today after I figured out the clutch in my compressor was still good. Got the belt put on, turned on the truck, hit the ac switch, hit it again, and again, and again... nothing. So obviously the switch is bad since the fuse for the ac was fine, so this weekend my dad and I are going to run a toggle switch under the dash to replace the broken switch.

Has anyone done this before??? If so any input would be very much appreciated! Getting tired of having no air, especially when its a hot rainy day!

my old work vans ac switch kept fin up so we put a toggle switch in.... just make sure you wire the hot to an ignition switched power source incase you forget to turn the switch off... it will kill your battery lol

Yeah, I think were just gonna pull the wires out of the original switch to hook up the toggle, don't want no dead batteries! lol

See if you're getting power to the switch before ya start cutting those wires.
I'd go to the yard, or see if anyone on here has a switch layin around, I'll check the garage tom.

might be a break or something in the wires going to the switch... check them with a volt meter... if you are getting power to the hot side of the switch... id suggest getting another switch vs having a toggle switch....

I'd love to put another original switch back in it but, I been outta work since march & everything's really tight & I've got about 20 toggle switches just layin around so I figured I'd just do this for now till something changes. The only reason I even got the belt for the compressor was because Advanced had one for like 5 bucks & it gets so hot I figured it was worth the money. lol!

Well got the a/c workin today, woot, woot!!! now I gotta get a new resistor for my blower motor cause it only works on high & it just about freezes me out. Just thought I'd let yall know my progress!!!
