I don't know if this is considered 8!7CH!N& or not, but it is something I need to talk about. I have been around the minitruckin scene since I was 9 or 10 with my older brothers. I have done the local shows and a hand-full of national shows with my 5 or so previous mazdas. I am currently getting frustrated with the way Minitruckin' is being handled and produced. I have seen almost every Minitruckin' magazine, from originals (now old school) to the current issue.
Lately, the magazine has started a new trend of "pre" featuring trucks the month before. Personally, I don't like it! Why waste all these pages on this? There are plenty of trucks out there that are thrown out of editing that could very well be in there under show coverage or even costruction zone. I would rather wait my 30, 31, 28, or sometimes 29 days on the leap year, for the next months issue to see these trucks. There is no excitement behind seeing a full build on 6 pages a month before the feature. Why go into all this detail about something you're showing me again next month?
Second, show coverage. Why show a truck at a show that is being featured in that same issue? They're taking away a photo of another truck to show something that you see a full feature on. What sense does this make? You should just list the information on where you found the truck in the feature, including which show. Also, why have quotes in a show coverage picture that says "coming next month"? Let us get our surprise next issue when we are looking at the feature and think "hey, that's the truck from the HeatWave coverage a couple months ago" (excitement example) Which leads me into my last issue....
CARS, I didn't buy DUB or Tuner! I bought Minitruckin' because i want to see minitrucks. I want to read all the features, flip through the show coverage and fill my brain with information about trucks, vendors, and show information without seeing a picture of a Dodge Magnum! I don't care about these things! Then they throw in the quote on the Corvair truck "mini...sorta." Well, it is more a mini than a Magnum or Civic. We need to get rid of stuff like this and focus on the extra show coverage, pictures of men/women doing their thing and bringing out their dreams. We all know the shows are dying off. We need to bring it back and get our obsession/hobby back on the top.
Thank you for reading through my topic and sucking in the information. I hope I brought some good stuff to your attention.
Much love for my odsession and fellow minitrucker's!

Some good points there bro. Send'm an email about it!

cant get rid of em. very sentimental. there are a few on ebay right now, dating back to 89
Why not post this in the Minitruckin magazine forum on streetsource ? It would be read by the Minitruckin staff there. Good points though.
although you have some good points i have to dissagree with you. seeing a build of a truck then seeing it featured the next month is kinda cool. it shows what it takes to make a feature truck or how they did that cool thing with the truck that you would like to do with yours. it gives you an in-depth connection with the truck that i like. i do agree with you about seeing a truck in a show coverage then turn the page to see it featured, but it shows you that the person brings the truck out and thats how it gets recognized. if you seen the same truck in 5 or 6 show coverages, you should think "damn that dude is everywhere and he does some traveling" instead of being tired of seeing the truck. as far as the cars thing goes, if minitruckin deems a car worthy enough to be in the mag, there is something cool about it. its not bodykited out or donked out, its minitruck-themed. hell that car may have more mods and cool "minitrucker" things done to it than your truck does. dont hate on it cause that guy didnt build a tacoma, respect what hes done and get some ideas from it.
remember: you paid for the subscription and you can cancel at anytime.
i must say one thing ,i agree both ideas ,and 2nd ,mintruckin ,is for minitrucks ,i dont subscribe to home and garden ,to see techs on how to pave my drive way ,its a mag meant for trucks ,and there are many out there to feature ,and well worth it ,just my 2 cents
Agreed Sosa - minitrucks are what we want to see. Hate to say it, the same thing killed Lowrider Magazine. For any of you that have ever read Lowrider it used to be several hundred pages! Yeah, there were a lot of rim adds but..... there were a lot of what you wanted to see. Then they started adding a bunch of "stuff" that they thought you wanted to see and / or read about and now the magazine is barely 1/4 the volume it used to be. I hope Minitrucking does not fall down the same path but I fear it will.
yep linn ,lowrider went down hill too,for that reason ,as many shows nation wide i always said ,why is there a 2 page add on nothing to do with lowriders ,but its all about the money ,and since the advertisers are paying top dollar ,they put pretty much whatever they want.it is a shame ,but in actuality like someone said ,"i think nick ,just email minitruckin and tell themn your thoughts ,beleive me ,im sure if they see alot of people are dissapointed ,they would listen, and try to make something change ,but we are only a small percent telling them .i doubt 1 person complaining would have an affect ,but if a couple hundred would ,i think it would help ,
I have been gettin Minitruckin since the 90s yo! It is what it is!
