In addition to this idea, many companies like Lokar sell pedal e-brake assemblies like in most GM trucks and cars. They also sell all the different length cables, collars, and connectors you would need, and many of these parts can be integrated into your stock cables/e-brake. Just another idea......

Those line locks are cool, but i don't think that they are legal. I think it needs to be cable operated. Lokar makes some sweet ones though.

I don't have one in my Caddy or the roadster. I have been thinking of upgrading.

mines broken, and i always lay mine out as well. but mines a auto to, so i dont really have to worry about it rolling. BUT you NEED them for inspections up here so i have to keep all the shit on there.

the last 4 trucks i have bagged for myself i have removed the ebrake. im sure there are some cases where you might say "damn i sure wish i woulda kept that e-brake" but it's always in my way so i just ditched the bastard.

kinda funny too... i didnt put any on the 49 chevy i just finished bagging. the FIRST time i drove it, i got bout a half mile from the house and the brakes went out on me. i got worried for a second then remembered i can lay it out... so, i layed it out, drug runningboard and fender, hit a curb and slid to a stop...lmao I put it back in gear, aired it up so that stuff was BARELY dragging and drove back home. People in the neighborhood were looking like "WTF is he doing" when i came through tearing bumper and fender all to hell. I replaced the WHOLE brake system the next weekend.

we have a pretty intense inspection for vehicles to be on the road. especially for 96+ because of the obd2.

run the e brake. as mentioned lokar makes really cool looking ones. this is what u need to do.

only the shaft and button are above the floor. you need a cutoff wheel to cut a wide enough slit in the floor for the unit to slip down in. you'll likely have to dis assemble the unite to get it thru the floor...
run the lever sideways under the front edge of your seat, so you call pull it out toward the firewall. it'll be hidden, and you can run the cables straight from that point under the floor, you will have to shorten your cables and housings, and find sufficient mountings, but it'd be worth it.
