I have a Craftsman I got for christmas like 4 years ago and it still does the job every time i use it.
Wow! Kinda didnt figure that the makitas were that popular, though makita has been in the game for a while. I'm still looking so far. This makita here, I recently looked at the tag on the body an this thing was made in june of 89. That stands fairly good with me that its lasted this long.
I have a 7" craftsman I got from my grandpa, its still works good Its been around forever. You thread the discs on it. I dont use it that much. It's big and heavy. I have three 4" grinders one Ryobi and 2 harbor freight. The harbor freight ones are a good bang for the buck. They were $20 each and I beat the crap out of them and they have not broke yet. One always has a flap disc and the other has cut off disc's. All the 4" ones have a single wrench for changing disc's.
i just buy the $20.00 tool shop brand from menards that way if i burn it up i dont feel too bad i think i burned up two of them when i built my truck but waited till they were 10.00 on sale
i have a 4" ryobi and a big azz something another that i hate to pick up anymore. they little one works wonders and dad bought it for me so, free. we have another on the work truck that has been a good one also.
i have a hitachi 4.5" inch for work... use it all the time for cutting cast iron pipe... and some cutting around the house...
I have a 4" DeWalt that I got from my fiance for Christmas a couple years back... I got a HarborFreight one as well.... For the once a year that I want it to spin slower I use it.
The DeWalt I use for everything... Christmas trees to my garage floor... And some truck stuff too. You can really go wrong with Dewalt, I got the 7amp version, I think.
