ok so im about to mount the bed of my truck and my wheels dont tuck in the bed..i have escalades, and 2wd sheet metal..it barely fits over, but it rubs the rim and tire on the way down, so i cant have that obviously. lol. i have 17inch eskies with 19mm offset..

i was thinking about getting a different rear, like a montero, but i was wondering what year i would need, and if everything bolts right onto the drive shaft, e.t.c..

btw my mazda is a 1992 b2200 ext cab..thanks.. n this is the only thing holding me back from finishing, so any help is appreciated !!

thnx again

Did you trim the lip on the inside of the bed? Im not sure about the montero rear, but you can get a pathfinder axle. There about 2" narrower and are have disc brakes. Youll have to get the flange for the axle put on the driveshaft too.

The Montero rear end you need is from late 80's early 90's an you can find them with disc brakes also. It's 2"narrower. If I'm not mistaken I do believe the drive shaft bolts up. I not 100% sure, I have one but not in yet and I'll have to lenghten my drive shaft cause I'm doning something differnet. I know that layinspraxx got one with disc brakes and put it in his truck an I think he said the drive shaft bolts up, I can't remember. I would say ask him but he hasn't been on in a while and I can't get in touch with him at all.

One other option is to flare the bed sides. I have done this on both trucks. You can gain approximately 3/4" additional clearance for the tires without having to shorten the rear axel.
