On my 2.2 I pulled the distributor off of the head when doing my rebuild, and am about to reinstall it. But there are no marks!? Usually (on my hondas) there is only one way to put it back in so timing cant be off. But this thing doesnt have a mark or anything.... Am I not looking hard enough or is there a mark to put it in correctly?

C'mon fellas, one of you knows where the mark is.. I'm going to try to see if the rotor has a TDC mark for cylinder 1 or something but help! I know you know....

the cap should be marked 1-4. if not #1 is to the left facing the grille if you are looking at it standing at the drivers fender. set the ending to tdc and do set the rotor to #1.

make sure the cam and crank timing are in sink. then on the shaft of the distributor there is a mark and then the spinning shaft of the distributor is a dimple. line those up and slide it in. you will see the rotor button rotate a little bit and should fall right in to top dead center. hold your cap up to it to make sure. if you look on my write up on the solid lifter conversion there should be pics there showing exactly what im talking about.

MAZDAWG- I have the crank and cam pulleys lined up perfectly to TDC. So with #1 closest to the grille you say, what is the order going clockwise (or counter clockwise)? [please specify which]

JUSTIN - I cant find your solid lifter conversion in the tech or any section. Is it archived?

THANKS GUYS!!!! THIS IS THE ONLY THING LEFT TO DO, THE NEW REBUILD IS READY TO START OTHERWISE :L

Ok, so just clarifying" at TDC the rotor should point left. That is #1 so that wire should go to the furthest plug to the front of the truck (so front most is #1, then 2,3,4). Then going clockwise on the distributor should be 3,4,2... ???

I'm only making sure b/c autozone.com has it differently, but I have seen them wrong before... Just want to be sure before I crank it up! Thanks again
