So here's a pretty boring question for you guys, I decided to do some basic maintenence stuff on my truck lately, new rad cap, coolant flush, oil change and replace thermostat etc. etc.
Unfortunatly when I got to the thermostat I found that the prior owner had taken the old one out, cut out the middle bit and fitted it back in like that.
Not a problen I thought as I was fitting a new one, but alas, I had to guess which way around to fit the new one, and I think I guessed wrong.
I put it with the main body/spring part inside the thermostat housing, and since I didn't know what that little brass bit was I just put it in without thinking about where it should go too.
I've noticed that it warms up faster than it used to, but it's still pretty slow eh.
I don't suppose anyone can tell me which way around it's meant to go?
Aha thanks, gotta fix that this weekend, I had a really bad feeling I got it wrong.
Just realised I put this in the totally wrong area of the forum too... whoops.
Hopefully no-one notices
