Don't know if anybody has done this, but here we go. If you are like me and want to know how tall your tire is and you want to figure it out for yourself and not just use some online calculator, because you acutlly want to see how it works then here we go. Example 225/30 20 first take the tire width(225) and mutiply it by 2 (2x225=450) then take that number(450) and multiply it by the tire profile (450x.30= 135) but convert your tire profile by putting a decimal (.30) point in front of it, once that you have done that you should have (135) now take that number (135) and divide it by (25.4) that gives you (5.31) so you then take your tire size (20) and add that to (5.31+20) and you have your tire height (25.31)

2x225= 450
450x.30= 135
135 divide by 25.4= 5.31
5.31+20= 25.31 overall tire height

Another example with a differnet tire size 205/70 14

2x205= 410
410x.70= 287
287 divide by 25.4= 11.29
11.29+14= 25.29 overall tire height

HAHAHAHA..... Yes that works to but if you don't have the tire or are shopping for tires that makes it kind of hard.

i did the math when i bought the 16's for my truck rather than using a website, but i didn't think you could get up to 20' rim while still maintaining the same diameter. It's a pain in the ass having a tire size with both metric and imperial, but i'm in Canada and i'm used to both.

has a nice calculator and you can compare sizes with it.
