what does the choke need to be hooked up to? constant power while truck is running or what?
im pretty sure thats most of my problem while my truck is running like crap till it gets warm. but of course i didnt hook any of this up an dont know where they got the wire thats hooked to it now or any of that. im gettin ready to tear all the wires out i dont need and rewire alot of stuff so that every thing is working like it should and i know where it goes and comes from. any help would work. and my weber is a 34. thanks aaron.
there is a yellow wire off the alternator in a black sleeve ,that goes to the choke,i have a 34 too,if you have any more questions hit me up
the choke is wired to the alt??? I thought it ran to the coil for some reason, maybe thats why mine doesnt work for shit!
^^^^^^
Wait, wait... I need to hook mine up too.
lol ,yeah yo need that one there
Hook it up to Ign. ON. Also hook the idle solenoid to the same power source. If you hook the choke up to a constant power source it won't do it's job correctly.
Sorry man thats WRONG it is connected to the output on the alternator like stated above. If its hooked up to the ignition it will start warming when the ignition is on even if the truck isn't running.
An ignition ON source is simply a wire that is hot only when the truck is running. Even an accessory source will work. From what I understand, that yellow wire is an Ignition ON source that tells the alternator to start charging. So you, my friend, are mistaken. I still have the instructions that came with my carb that say this.
yellow wire on the mazda alt only powers up when the alt is working(running) thats the wire you use
