yes it's carb.

i'm positive i can hear the pump working, and it worked when i pulled it out of the truck

in any case i'll be popping off the hose and seeing if fuel comes out

still.... why would it route back in through the tank???

The tanks are different. The AT truck has the fuel pump in the tank with the filter on the frame rail above the tank. The manual trucks use the mech.pump.The extra line is the fuel return from the charcoal cannister on the fender well.there is also a line from the stock Nikki carb overflow back to the tank.Whatta mess. The FI trucks have a baffle built into the tanks so the pumps wont get fuel starved on acceleration and burn the pumps up.Also the FI tanks for one truck year are not the same as another year.Found this out the hard way.BJ

mine's 89 carbed automatic and yes the pump is in the tank, and filter is behind the tank in a small canister
i can't figure out now why i'm not getting fuel.. but hopefully tomorrow i'll jack it up, pop off the hose and see if the pump is working.. i'll know more from there

according to haynes the in tank pump is electric, not manual.. so it still could be electrical connection (i also don't see why the gauge would need 4 wires + ground to operate)

i see no fuel in the filter... so.... tells me a bit i guess :/

well the pic above is my old one taken out....

if you want to that would be cool, but i'm absolutely sure all hoses are in the right spot, unless this new tank has everything routed differently :/

can't hurt, thanks
