I have a 1994 mazda b4000 pickup. What are the differences between it and a ford ranger? I need to get some replacement parts and when i go looking for mazda parts their arent that many to choose from. I know that it and the ranger are suppose to be the same but i want to make sure before i order something for a ranger and it not fit on my mazda. If they are interchangable with me having a 1994 b4000 what year should i be looking for? If this question has already been asked I'm sorry I'm asking it again. I new to the mazda and just need a little guidance. thanks
welcome to Bscene. First off, 94-08 Mazdas and Rangers are the same trucks mechanically. Only minor interior trim options are the differences inside, while for the exterior, very little is interchangable to combine ford and mazda parts on the same truck and make it look right.
Aftermarket support is slim to none for exterior options for the Mazdas. You might be lucky to find billet grilles or roll pans, but those are about all that are specifically made for them. Interior wise, you can use ALMOST all Ranger accessories for gague clusters, door panels, seats,A pillars, stereo components, window cranks etc.
Mechanically, your truck should be about the same as a a Ranger XLT 4x4 as the B4000 is the top of the line Mazda. I have a 2002 B4000 ext cab myself. Yours should have the Explorer 4.0 SOHC V6. When it comes to ordering parts, you can and will be safe ordering parts for a 94 Ranger, just make sure to specify it is 4x4 and if they give you options like SE,LE,Edge,XLT etc, go by the highest trim range like XLT.
This site deals mainly with the pre-Ford 1977-1993 Mazdas, so if you want to find some really good info on your truck, check out .
You can find me on both of those sites under the same username.
