nice bike and good luck with the motor i like my stock but a sr20 does sound preatty good o sorry for the thread jack
yeah i traded it last week for a 01' Firebird.....lol
dude!!!!...double check and look on the left side of the block next to the last cylinder and make sure it says "350"..it might be a 307..99% of the olds V8's with a factory aluminum intake were 307's...i do alot of olds's...i'm a big cutlass guy on top of a mazda freak...just alittle fyi..
so whats that mean? i boughta worthless motor thats gonna be slow as hell? assuming it is a 307...
i didnt even know olds made a 307, i thought that was a chevy motor
nah..the 307's weren't too bad..they wind up quick and in a light truck it should still haul ass...i noticed it had the lovely "log" manifolds...it most likely is a 307...but the nice thing about those motors is all the stuff from the olds 350's fits on it,,intake,heads,cam,,etc...also you can run the 90degree heads on them as well (olds doesnt have a big block/ small block..the engines are 90degree and 45degree...so there is some killer parts out there)..the lower ends on the 307 are the smae as used on the 350 so being in a truck you plan on playing with it..you will NEVER!! have a problem with the lower end in an olds motor..they are bulletproof...as long as you keep oil in them...keep an eye on the rocker covers..lol
awesome! i cant wait to get it running
