I dont like doing bag behind axle setups unless i have to. When you put the bag behind the axle your putting tortional force on it meaning your trying to roll the axle. That just puts stress on everything and i dont really see a benefit to doing it.
The reason mikey has a nice ride with a behind axle setup is def thanks to sleeve bags. Sleeve bags will handle a 1:1 ratio load much better than double convoluted bags because the design allows them to "collapse better" thereby riding smoother. Double conv bags like to hold their shape under loads and since 1 airbag will nearly hold up the entire weight of the truck its under theres not enough weight to match it. They will ride better in a lever setup because your multiplying the weight of the truck the bag handles.
Think of it like a trampoline. You drop a golfball on a trampoline and its gonna hit like its hitting a brick wall (rough ride) Eventho the trampoline (airbag) is a soft and bouncy object it didnt have enough weight applied to absorb the force. Now drop a fat kid on a trampoline and it absorbs the impact and returns to normal. Think of your lever setup the same way, shocks control how high the kid bounces.
My comparasin is extremely over exaggerated but i think it gets the point across. Its all a big balancing act.
yeah that totally makes since
ya, i hear that guy has slammin deals!!
