Was thinking about using 16guage. Any advice, what is the best to use. Also I was thinking about buyin up supply of sheet in bulk. What is the difference between cold rolled, hot rolled or galvanized?? Does it make a difference.
Thanks,

16 is fine but if it is something you are going to paint get cold rolled millscale on hot rolled is a bit** to get off and not worth the time for the little bit you save on the metal. i bought hot rolled once never again.

Cold rolled 16 gauge is what I used to build my firewall and BD floor plates.

how hard was it to do the firewall. Im plannin on doin tubs and then making a smooth firewall. Is it better to do the firewall before or after you weld the floor up???

very welcome. the shop teacher here gave me a 4'x8' sheet of it for the floor in my '57 chev truck. it was a church sign before it got to me.

It wasn't that hard it was just time consuming. My firewall is in no way smooth/flat. heres a pic.
